Plaza Advisors sells second Walgreens

OCALA - Plaza Advisors announced the recent sale of a newly constructed Walgreen’s store in Ocala. This building totaled 16,510sf and is situated at the intersection of SR 200 and SW 80th Avenue at the entrance to the On Top of the World residential communities. The Walgreen’s opened in June 2010 and features a liquor store.

Plaza Advisors represented the seller in the transaction, and co-managing partners Anthony Blanco and Jim Michalak, together with Senior Associate Lenard Williams, were involved in the engagement.

Realvest leases 5,000sf to motorcycle shop

MAITLAND - NAI Realvest negotiated a five-year lease agreement for a 5,000sf motorcycle shop at 2001 N. Orange Blossom Trail in Orlando.

Michael Heidrich, a principal at NAI Realvest, negotiated the transaction representing the landlord, Alexander D. MacKinnon III of Tampa, and the new local tenant, A Bike Shop Inc., which will be occupying units A and B at the retail facility to handle motorcycle sales, service and repair.

Avalon Park leases 535sf space

ORLANDO - Avalon Park Group negotiated a new commercial lease in downtown Avalon Park.

Stephanie Hodson, marketing coordinator at Avalon Park Group, said TEM 123 leased 535sf of retail space in Avalon Professional Center at 13000 Avalon Lake Drive.

Crossman releases ICSC 2010 Florida Retail Report

ORLANDO - Crossman & Company will be presenting the bi-annual ICSC Florida Retail Report at the keynote presentation on Monday, Aug. 23, at 1 p.m. at the International Council of Shopping Centers Florida Conference.

Crossman & Company has produced the report on behalf of ICSC for the past 15 years, and includes contributions from more than 75 companies throughout the state.

Grubb & Ellis negotiates 2,800sf at 55 West

ORLANDO - Grubb & Ellis|Commercial Florida completed a new 10-year lease agreement for 2,800sf of retail space at 55 West, located at 55 W. Church St. in downtown Orlando.

Aaron Gray, associate at Grubb & Ellis|Commercial Florida, negotiated the lease on behalf of the Netherlands-based landlord FFWO LLC. The new tenant is 55 West Convenience Store LLC, d/b/a 7-Eleven.

Jay Manji of Manji Realty represented the tenant.

Sperry Van Ness sells 5,000sf restaurant

LAKE MARY - Sperry Van Ness Florida has completed the sale of a 5,136sf bank-owned restaurant in Orlando for $840,000. SVN Florida was hired by United Midwest Savings Bank of Columbus, Ohio, to market and sell the property at 2503 S. Kirkman Road.

Jeff Chatlos of Sperry Van Ness Florida represented the owner, Midwest Business Capital. Lyn Grogan of Maingate Real Estate represented the buyer, QMDC Group LLC.

BFC Development starts Golden Eagle Village

ORLANDO - BFC Development Corp., the development arm of Battaglia Group, announced the ground breaking of its first Publix-anchored shopping center, Golden Eagle Village, at Golden Eagle Boulevard and US 27 in the Four Corners area of South Lake County.

The project will consist of a 45,600sf Publix store, 18,450sf of local shops and three outparcels. The planned opening for the shopping center is June 2011.

Kelsey Construction Inc. has been selected as the general contractor and began construction in late July.

Crossman closes 3,100sf in leasing

ORLANDO - Crossman & Company negotiated new lease agreements for 3,170sf at two Orlando shopping centers.

Leasing associate Daniel Germano represented landlord F.F. Fashion Village Partnership in a four-year lease agreement for 2,420sf at 3837 East Colonial Drive in Fashion Village. The new tenant, Avarta Wellness, provides chiropractic services.

GBA leases 1,400sf at Paradise Shoppes

ORLANDO - Paul Kiang, CCIM, CPM, and Larry Kiang of GBA Realty LLC have negotiated a five-year lease of the 1,400sf Miyoko Express at the Publix-anchored Paradise Shoppes of Largo. Marshall Bigler of LandQwest Commercial represented the landlord, Inland American Retail Management LLC.

Realvest closes Hometown Buffet lease

MAITLAND - NAI Realvest completed a five-year lease agreement for the 6,200sf former Bennigan's restaurant facility at 7344 W. Colonial Drive in Orlando.

Mez Birdie, CCIM, director of retail services at NAI Realvest, brokered the transaction on behalf of the landlord, Los Angeles-based Hinden Family Trust, and the tenant, Orlando-based Hometown Buffet.

Hometown Buffet is expected to open in October and will accommodate 220 patrons.
