Tri-City earns 10 ABC awards

ORLANDO - Tri-City Electrical Contractors Inc. received 10 ABC awards including eight ABC Eagle Awards representing the highest level of achievement, in the 2010 ABC Excellence in Construction Competition presented by the Associated Builders & Contractors Inc.

Realvest chairman praises FIRPTA reform

ORLANDO - Congressional reform of the Foreign Investment in Real Estate Property Tax Act is having a positive effect on the nation’s economy, according to longtime real estate analyst George Livingston, chairman of NAI Realvest in Maitland.

"Reform of FIRPTA has been a high priority, and it is beginning to pay off," Livingston said.

D & A Building Services marks 25th anniversary

LONGWOOD - D & A Building Services Inc., a facility maintenance company headquartered in Longwood, is celebrating 25 years in business. Founder and company President/CEO Al Sarabasa Jr. opened the doors of D & A Hi-Rise Window Cleaning Services in 1985 just one month after graduating from the University of Central Florida with a degree in marketing.

Twenty-five years later, the two-person start-up has grown into Central Florida’s largest commercial cleaning company, and one of the largest Hispanic owned businesses in the nation.

Randall Mechanical earns Eagle Award

ORLANDO - Specialty contractor Randall Mechanical Inc. received an ABC Eagle Award representing the highest level of achievement in the 2010 ABC Excellence in Construction Competition for its work at the new $63.4 million UCF College of Medicine ($5 to $10 million category) at Lake Nona Medical City in Orlando.

KISSIMMEE - Wayne Schoolfield of Schoolfield Properties negotiated on behalf of the landlord, CKB Investors, 3,200sf of office space for a term of five years to High Five Frozen Yogurt St. Cloud LLC, located at 4609 Old Canoe Creek Road at 5th Street Plaza, located on 5th Street and Old Canoe Creek Road.

Amendment 4 rallies set for September

ORLANDO - On Sept. 14, the Vote No on 4 campaign will be holding its Regional Rally from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Orlando Museum of Art. This event will bring together more than 50 organizations who have unified to defeat Amendment 4

A reception will follow this free rally, with food and beverages to be provided.
 

Maitland Summit III earns LEED Gold

ORLANDO - Liberty Property Trust has earned LEED Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council for its 211,000sf Maitland Summit III building in Orlando.  

“LEED certified buildings are attractive to occupants because they offer lower operating costs and provide a more productive work environment,” said Stephen Whitley, vice president and city manager for Liberty.

Realvest sells oceanfront parcel

MAITLAND - NAI Realvest negotiated the sale of a 0.23-acre parcel of land at 39 South Ocean Ave. in Daytona Beach for $579,000.

Thomas E. Hankins, CCIM, SIOR, principal at NAI Realvest in Maitland, negotiated the transaction representing the seller, BB&T as successor for Colonial Bank of Winston-Salem, N.C.

The city of Daytona Beach purchased the property for parking. Thomas Corso of Charles Wayne Properties represented the city.

Marketplace Advisors sells 6.6 acres

ORLANDO - Marketplace Advisors Inc. negotiated the sale of a 6.6-acre site on Howell Branch Road in Seminole County.

David Marks, president of Marketplace Advisors Inc., negotiated the sale representing the buyer, Howell Branch Cove Ltd.

Jeff Bornstein, with Coldwell Banker Commercial NRT, represented the seller, Branch Investments LLC.

The purchase price was $1,000,000.
