FGCAR, CCIM present 2009 service awards
TAMPA - Florida Gulfcoast Commercial Association of Realtors and the Florida West Coast CCIMs held their year-end luncheon at the Rusty Pelican in Tampa. President Scott Clendening recognized various FGCAR members for their service to the association.
Bill Alton, NAI Tampa Bay, and Marilyn Hett of Hillsborough County Economic Development were recognized as Committee Chairs of the Year for their work with FGCAR’s Education Committee and Third Thursday Luncheon Committee respectively.
Heather Whitacre of Fidelity National Title was named Affiliate Member of the Year. This is the third year Heather has received this award.
Scott Clendening also presented President’s Service Awards to Dana Koay of Commercial Partners Realty for her work with the Public Relations Committee and to Steve Silverman of Tampa Commercial Real Estate for arranging and hosting the Brandon-area Pitch Sessions.
Gerald D. Schotts Jr. of Ridge Seminole Management received FGCAR’s highest award, Broker of the Year for his continuing efforts in increasing membership, his leadership in arranging the annual Pinnacle Awards ceremony and his work with FGCAR’s Government Affairs committee.
Ron Weaver, co-founder of Real Estate Lives, was the guest speaker for the event. Weaver gave an update on the accomplishments of his organization, which was formed to help people who have lost jobs due to the crisis in the real estate industry.
