Niche strategy helps GCs thrive in tough times

There's no question that the landscape for general contractors and builders has drastically changed in Florida during the last few years.

With a high inventory of office space, there is little if any need for new high-rise buildings. Car dealerships aren't expanding and some are closing, so construction of showrooms isn't on the horizon. And the home building market has plenty of inventory with unfortunate levels of foreclosures, short sales, and abandonment where you can buy real estate for $.50 on a dollar.
